The Hypocrisy of the Gender Card...

Never mind going to my blog...here it is:

The gender card is a silly argument; although I'll admit that the novelty of a woman on the ticket had a role in making this call, Palin isn't using that card like a certain someone else. I remember Sen. Clinton in her debates with Rick Lazio. Every time he would confront her and push her on an issue, she'd recoil and complain about being viciously attacked. Grow some! You're running for the frickin' Senate! Her surrogates would parrot the same lines about this "horrible man attacking this poor, defenseless girl." That disgusted me. Give me a break-- Hillary is a tough woman, and it's idiotic for her to cry victimization. From what she shows thus far (admittedly little-- it's early), Palin strikes me as a woman with a spine of steel (like Hillary has) and one that won't shrink from a confrontation and then cry sexism (like Hillary would). In my times in Alaska, I met many a strong Alaskan woman-- seriously, they're all strong-- and they make no excuses. Palin's ready to play with the boys, and the gender card's not part of her deck.

Partisan attacks are ugly. Gender and race card accusations are ugly. Obama's a class act, even if the party machinery beneath is the same ugly beast as always. He won't overtly play the race card, at least hasn't yet. I'll admit that I'm a conservative leaning guy who's supportive of McCain; if I can admit that and say that Obama's a stand-up guy but that I'm not a fan of his (nebulous and/or socialist) policies, why can't the Left and the Jon Stewart/MSNBC crowd stick to criticism of McCain on the issues? Palin's experience is fair game; this gender card thing is ridiculous, though.

"Palin strikes me as a woman with a spine of steel (like Hillary has) and one that won't shrink from a confrontation and then cry sexism" - ...right, because she doesn't have to (and that's my point) when people like Dick Morris embarrass themselves by doing it. And Karl Rove sickens me...Kaine's unqualified but Palin is????
